About
Brothers Jon, Peter and Dann Hume (ages 17, 19 and 21 respectively) make up Evermore, the highest selling Australasian band of 2005. They've come a long way from their winning a national high school band competition in their homeland of New Zealand.
Produced by Barrette Jones (Nirvana, Foo Fighters) and John Alagia (Dave Matthews, John Mayer), Their debut album Dreams is approaching double Platinum status in Australia and New Zealand alone. The single "It's Too Late" was the #7 most played song on Australian radio for all formats and all artists for 2005. The band was nominated for 5 ARIA Awards (Australian Grammys) including 'Album of the Year' and 'Best Group'. They were the winner of the APRA Silver Scroll Award for 'Best Song of 2005' and the recipients of the publicly voted 'Best New Act' at the 2005 Australian MTV Awards. Australian viewers of The O.C. have also heard "It's Too Late" and "For One Day" on the hit show.
A unique mix of indie rock sounds, sophisticated songwriting, and dreamy atmospheric textures envelope their debut album Dreams and present listeners with a compete vision of the band. Imagine a combination of The Police’s Synchronicity, Pink Floyd’s Dark Side of the Moon and Muse’s Absolution (all of which were in heavy rotation during the writing and recording of Dreams) and you’ll start to get a feel for the sound of Evermore.
